Also known as asparagus bean, Chinese Long Bean,snake bean,bodi, borboti and bora, is a vigorous, heat-loving climber that produces extra-long, 20-30” tender pods all summer. Grow it on a trellis for straighter pods, cleaner fruit, and easy picking. 

Direct sow after last frost once soil is consistently above 20°C. Space plants 15–40 cm (6–16″) apart with rows 60–150 cm (24–60″). Provide a sturdy trellis from the start. Harvest begins in about 60–80 days. Pick pods every 1–3 days while they’re still slender and smooth—frequent harvesting keeps plants productive and pods high quality. Chigarden 2026
