Vietnamese Coriander (Rau Răm / Laksa Leaf)

This is a fragrant, heat-tolerant herb with a bright peppery-citrus bite, prized fresh in Vietnamese salads, summer rolls, soups, and noodle dishes. Unlike cilantro, it thrives in summer heat and stays productive with frequent cutting. 

Full sun to part shade. Plant in evenly moist, well-drained soil; it’s excellent in containers. Best started from transplants or cuttings (seed is less common). Space 20–30 cm (8–12″). Pinch or snip tender tips often to encourage bushy growth and keep leaves tender. Water regularly and mulch to hold moisture. Frost tender—grow as an annual outdoors in Ottawa, and bring pots inside before cold nights. Chigarden 2026
