French/African Marigold (Tagetes spp.) Net wt:~30 seeds

A classic, bold annual with prolific pom-pom blooms in sunny yellow, orange, and deep mahogany, flowering from late June until first frost. Native to Mexico and Central America, marigold is known as cempasúchil and is central to Día de los Muertos traditions, where its color and scent help guide spirits home. Petals can be used for a warm yellow-orange dye and contain lutein (also used to deepen egg-yolk color). Marigolds are excellent garden companions: their roots release compounds that help suppress soil nematodes.

Start indoors late March–mid April, then transplant outdoors in full sun in late May–early June after frost. Pinch early for bushier plants and more flowers.  Chigarden 2026
