◊Description

Saag is a leafy green dish, often eaten with rice or bread (roti, naan). Saag can be made from a variety of vegetables such as spinach, mustard greens, etc, with added spice such as chili pepper and cumin seeds. Chi Garden Saag is made with a diverse array of green veggies, which is high in antioxidants and dietary fibre.


◊Flavour and How to use

Great on crackers, flat breads, with rice, mashed potato, option to add cream (dairy, coconut, etc), butter, spiced oil.  Can use as base sauce for cooking veggies, paneer cheese or meat.

A few suggested ways to enjoy saag:

  1. Eat It Straight!
    Scoop it up with rice, crackers, or flatbread. We like it warm!
  2. Tender It!
    Heat up some butter, ghee, or oil, toss in onion and garlic, and sauté until tender. Sprinkle your favorite spices (cumin, chili pepper, or masala are top picks). Drizzle that aromatic magic over your saag. Boom—flavour explosion!
  3. Bake It!
    Feeling fancy? Wrap it up in phyllo sheets with some fried tofu or feta for a saag-inspired spanakopita. It’s quick, tasty, and healthy snack. This triangle spanakopita looks great with your saag as filling!
